## What does EWC code 20 02 01 cover?

20 02 01 is biodegradable waste from gardens and parks: grass, hedge and tree cuttings, leaves and branches, from homes, businesses and grounds. It isn’t hazardous. In England, a workplace that produces garden waste must have it recycled or composted where that gives the best environmental outcome.

## Can Japanese knotweed go in green waste?

No. Knotweed has to go to a landfill site or incinerator with a permit to take invasive plants, and you must check with the site before sending it. It can’t go in a green waste or compost collection.
