## Is D007 hazardous waste?

**Yes.** Waste is D007 when the TCLP extract of a representative sample holds chromium at or above 5 mg/L. That makes it toxic hazardous waste, whatever industry or process it came from.

Compare the chromium in the TCLP extract with 5 mg/L. A total chromium result is a different measure, so it can't be compared with this limit.

D007 applies when a representative sample gives a TCLP extract with chromium at or above 5 mg/L. The limit is for the extract, not the waste’s total chromium.
