## Is D010 hazardous waste?

**Yes.** Waste is D010 when the TCLP extract of a representative sample holds selenium at or above 1 mg/L. That makes it toxic hazardous waste, whatever industry or process it came from.

Compare the selenium in the TCLP extract with 1 mg/L. A total selenium result is a different measure, so it can't be compared with this limit.

D010 applies when a representative sample gives a TCLP extract with selenium at or above 1 mg/L. The limit is for the extract, not the waste’s total selenium.
