The report starts with the sections a client or the office asks for. Rename, reorder, remove or add sections, and the project keeps them for its next report.

- **Work done this period**: Each day’s work, filled from the diary
- **Programme position**: Key dates and where each one stands
- **Delays and problems**: Issues open in the dates, and those closed in them, by number
- **Help needed from the client**: What you need, and by when
- **Labour on site**: People by company or trade, day by day

## Progress report questions

### Is it free?

Yes. The report, the PDF and the email text are free, with or without an account.

### Do I need the site diary?

No. Type the report yourself. With a [site diary](https://complyonsite.com/tools/site-diary) kept for the same project, Fill from the days writes the first draft.

### Will filling it again write over my words?

No. Filling adds what the diary days have under what you typed. Nothing you wrote is changed.

### Can I write a monthly report?

Yes. Pick This month, or Other dates for any start and end date.

### Is a progress report a legal requirement?

Usually the contract or the client asks for it. Where there is a principal contractor, [CDM 2015 regulation 13](https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2015/51/regulation/13) says they must plan, manage and monitor the construction phase, and the diary days behind the report are part of that record.

### Where do the delays come from?

From [Site Issues](https://complyonsite.com/tools/site-issues). Each issue is listed by its number, and days with rain or wind are offered for you to add.
