  • B.C. hazardous-waste definition routes

    TDG classes 2–6, 8 and 9

Definition (a) is a B.C. classification route for waste that meets that paragraph after its exclusions.

Dangerous goods no longer used as intended that meet TDG classes 2–6, 8 and 9, such as gases, fuels & corrosives.

Is B.C. Definition (a) hazardous waste?

Yes, when the definition route applies after its exclusions. Definition (a) is paragraph a of the B.C. hazardous-waste definition. It is a classification route, not a numbered Schedule 7 Type.

On a regulated shipment, put the TDG shipping description or the statutory waste name in the shipping-name field of the B.C. manifest. B.C.’s exclusions and shipment rules still apply.

What does B.C. Definition (a) cover?

It covers TDG classes 2–6, 8 and 9. The full statutory definition, and any definition or federal TDG classification it incorporates, decides the route. The waste must also clear the definition's exclusions. The paragraph label alone doesn't classify an untested or undescribed load.
