Basel List A codes
Hazardous electrical and electronic scrap
Use A1180 for hazardous electrical and electronic scrap as a presumptively hazardous Basel waste.
Is Basel A1180 hazardous waste?
Normally yes. Basel A1180 is a List A description, so the waste is presumed hazardous unless evidence shows it has none of the Annex III hazardous characteristics. The description and any stated exclusions must still match.
For federally regulated international shipments, the applicant enters the waste classification in the waste-line details of the federal notification in CNMTS. The movement rules and exclusions still apply.
What does Basel A1180 cover?
Discarded electrical or electronic assemblies holding List A batteries, mercury switches, cathode-ray-tube or other activated glass, or PCB capacitors. It also takes scrap contaminated with Annex I constituents such as cadmium, mercury, lead or PCBs, enough to show an Annex III characteristic. Compare B1110.
