Iron and steel industry dross and scale

Use AA010 for iron and steel industry dross and scale as an OECD recovery-movement waste.

OECD amber waste code for dross, scale and other waste from the iron and steel industry. Amber waste moves across borders for recovery.

Is OECD AA010 hazardous waste?

For controlled OECD recovery movements. OECD AA010 is an additional OECD amber-list waste for a recovery movement. The amber code describes the material. SOR/2021-25 and the countries' rules decide whether the proposed Canadian movement is regulated.

For federally regulated international shipments, the applicant enters the waste classification in the waste-line details of the federal notification in CNMTS. The movement rules and exclusions still apply.

What does OECD AA010 cover?

Covers dross, scale and other waste from the iron and steel industry. For a recovery movement, Canadian controls come from SOR/2021-25, not from the amber code.
