Use L03 for other contaminated material; identify it.

Other contaminated materials, in Quebec's group of hazardous materials with contamination. Name the material on the shipment.

Is Quebec L03 hazardous waste?

Not from the code alone. L03 is a Quebec residual hazardous-material category. The material has to meet the regulatory definition first, and still meet it once the exclusions and quantity rules are applied.

Record L03 as the Quebec MDR category. If the material is dangerous goods in transport, show the MDR code apart from the TDG shipping description. The category doesn't replace the UN number, shipping name, class or packing group.

A regulated movement between provinces, or into, out of or through Canada, may also need the federal movement document. Each document has its own scope, so the Quebec category alone doesn't settle the paperwork.

What does Quebec L03 cover?

This Schedule 4 category for other contaminated material, which you must identify. It sits in Quebec's Contaminated hazardous materials group, so choose it from the material's actual form, composition and source.
