Alkaline or neutral mixture requiring reduction
Use N05 for alkaline or neutral mixture requiring reduction. Only the permit holders covered by Environment Quality Act section 70.9 may use this mixture category.
Is Quebec N05 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. N05 is a Quebec residual hazardous-material category. The material has to meet the regulatory definition first, and still meet it once the exclusions and quantity rules are applied.
Record N05 as the Quebec MDR category. If the material is dangerous goods in transport, show the MDR code apart from the TDG shipping description. The category doesn't replace the UN number, shipping name, class or packing group.
A regulated movement between provinces, or into, out of or through Canada, may also need the federal movement document. Each document has its own scope, so the Quebec category alone doesn't settle the paperwork.
What does Quebec N05 cover?
This Schedule 4 category for alkaline or neutral mixture requiring reduction. Under Quebec’s Environment Quality Act, s.70.9, only the permit holders named there may use an N-series mixture category. It sits in Quebec's section 70.9 permit-holder mixtures group, so choose it from the material's actual form, composition and source.
