U007, Acrylamide.

  • U-listed waste

    Acrylamide

U-list unused product.

U-listed hazardous waste for unused acrylamide, a toxic monomer used for gels, grouts & water treatment polymers.

Is U007 hazardous waste?

Yes, when the listing applies. U007 covers discarded, unused acrylamide, including off-specification product and qualifying residues. It is nonacute U-listed hazardous waste, not acute P-listed waste. The listing depends on the product and how it is discarded, not on a TCLP result alone.

Where a hazardous waste manifest is required, put U007 in Item 13. For exceptions, use the VSQG exemptions and empty-container rules and pharmaceutical containers.

What does U007 cover?

This listing covers unused acrylamide discarded as pure or technical grade, or in a formulation where it is the only active ingredient. Off-specification batches, nonempty-container residues and spill cleanup residues from these products are included. Inactive ingredients don't stop the chemical counting as the sole active ingredient.

Is waste acrylamide always U007?

CodeWhen it fits
U007The unused chemical is discarded as pure or technical grade, or as the sole active ingredient. Qualifying product residues count too.
Characteristic waste (D001–D043)A used chemical or a different formulation shows a hazardous-waste characteristic. Any process listings that fit apply too.

A listed unused product can also show a characteristic, so more than one row can apply. Having this chemical somewhere in a manufacturing waste doesn't make the waste U007. Match the waste’s origin, formulation and use history. Mixing listed waste with solid waste, or treating it, generally doesn't remove the listing unless an exclusion, exception or approved delisting applies.
