Acid waste: 1 code.

Acid waste

  • Characteristic hazardous waste

    Corrosive waste

An aqueous representative sample has pH 2 or lower, or the liquid corrodes steel at the federal test rate

    When to use D002

Other codes that mention it 66

  • F-listed waste

Spent cresol, cresylic acid and nitrobenzene solvents

    When to use F004
  • F-listed waste

    Wastewater sludge from electroplating

    When to use F006
  • K-listed waste

By-product salts from making the herbicides MSMA and cacodylic acid

    When to use K031
  • K-listed waste

Filter cake from making the insecticide phorate

    When to use K039
  • K-listed waste

Spent acid pickling liquor from iron or steel finishing

    When to use K062
  • K-listed waste

Air-pollution-control dust or sludge from secondary lead smelting

    When to use K069
  • K-listed waste

Acid solution used to leach secondary lead-smelting dust

    When to use K100
  • K-listed waste

Product-separation residue from making rocket-fuel chemical UDMH

    When to use K107
Corrosive D002 hazardous waste. An acid liquid at pH 2 or lower, or one that corrodes steel at the federal test rate, takes D002.

Which RCRA code applies to acid waste?

CodeWhen it applies
D002An aqueous representative sample has pH 2 or lower, or the liquid corrodes steel at the federal test rate

What evidence decides acid waste?

The spent sulfuric acid exclusion applies when the acid is used to produce virgin sulfuric acid and isn't speculatively accumulated.

Other spent-acid recycling doesn't remove D002 or a listing on its own.

Can acid waste be excluded another way?

Only recycling that makes virgin sulfuric acid, without speculative accumulation, is excluded.
