ComplyOnSite Chrome extension privacy policy

1. What the extension does
The ComplyOnSite — Waste & SDS checks Chrome extension processes safety data sheets and selected UK waste references in your browser. It has no account, analytics, advertising or connection to a ComplyOnSite server.
2. Safety data sheets
On Screwfix and Toolstation product pages, the extension reads links already present on the page to find a safety data sheet. It downloads a supported SDS only when you choose to read it and grant access to its document host. That host receives the normal request information, including your IP address. The request carries no browser credentials or page referrer.
Known document-service links are not fetched, and PDF redirects are refused. You can choose a PDF already saved on your device instead.
3. Local processing and downloads
The PDF is read locally. The extension shows extracted wording, uncertainty and source-page references, and creates the Excel workbook locally. It does not upload the PDF or extracted contents.
Results remain in the open reader tab and are discarded when it closes. Files you download remain on your device until you remove them.
4. Selected waste references and external sites
The right-click action reads only the text you selected for that action. EWC codes are looked up in data bundled with the extension.
A recognised waste-carrier registration number opens the Environment Agency public register with that number as its search query. Following a source or website link opens that website normally; its privacy policy applies.
5. Collection, permissions and contact
ComplyOnSite does not collect, sell or share personal information, PDF contents, selections or browsing activity through this extension. Chrome may retain its own browsing history, open tabs and granted site permissions.
You can revoke document-host access in Chrome’s extension settings and remove the extension at any time.
