  • Basel List B codes

    Non-infectious agro-food industry waste

Use B3060 for non-infectious agro-food industry waste as a Basel List B waste without an Annex III hazard.

Waste from food and farm product industries that is not infectious, such as wine lees. Non-hazardous food-plant waste.

Is Basel B3060 hazardous waste?

Not from the code alone. Basel B3060 is on Basel List B, so material matching it is normally not hazardous under the Convention. It becomes hazardous if Annex I constituents give it an Annex III hazardous characteristic. SOR/2021-25 and its exclusions decide Canadian federal control.

On a federally regulated international shipment, the applicant enters the waste classification in the waste-line details of the federal notification in CNMTS. The movement rules and exclusions apply.

What does Basel B3060 cover?

If infection is absent, covers wine lees, dried and sterilized vegetable residue or by-product used for animal feed and not otherwise specified, degras from processing fats or animal or vegetable wax, suitably prepared bone and horn-core waste, discarded fish material, cocoa residue such as shells, husks and skins, and other agro-food waste.
