Basel List B codes
Specified separated textile waste
Use B3030 for specified separated textile waste as a Basel List B waste without an Annex III hazard.
Is Basel B3030 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. Basel B3030 is on Basel List B, so material matching it is normally not hazardous under the Convention. It becomes hazardous if Annex I constituents give it an Annex III hazardous characteristic. SOR/2021-25 and its exclusions decide Canadian federal control.
On a federally regulated international shipment, the applicant enters the waste classification in the waste-line details of the federal notification in CNMTS. The movement rules and exclusions apply.
What does Basel B3030 cover?
Covers specified textile material only when it is not mixed with other waste and has been prepared to a specification. That includes silk waste such as unreelable cocoons, yarn waste and garnetted stock, carded or combed or not.

Animal fibre covers wool and fine or coarse animal-hair waste. Yarn waste is in but garnetted stock is not. Wool or fine-hair noils and other fine, wool or coarse-hair waste are in. Cotton yarn waste, cotton garnetted stock, other cotton waste and flax residue including tow also qualify.
Vegetable fibre covers tow and waste, including yarn and garnetted stock, from true hemp, jute or another bast fibre except flax, hemp and ramie, and from sisal or another Agave fibre. It also covers tow, noils and waste from coconut, abaca, ramie and other vegetable fibres not named elsewhere. Man-made-fibre noils, yarn waste and garnetted stock are in, as are used garments and other worn textiles.
