Use K01 for industrial or commercial research-and-development laboratory.
Is Quebec K01 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. K01 is a Quebec residual hazardous-material category. The material must meet the regulatory definition first, and still meet it after the exclusions and quantity rules are applied.
Record K01 as the Quebec MDR category. For dangerous goods in transport, show the MDR code apart from the TDG shipping description. The category doesn't replace the UN number, shipping name, class or packing group.
A regulated interprovincial, import, export or transit movement may also need the federal movement document. Each document has its own scope, so the Quebec category alone doesn't settle the paperwork.
What does Quebec K01 cover?
Schedule 4 category for an industrial or commercial research-and-development laboratory. It sits in Quebec's Hazardous materials from a laboratory group.
