Site diary questions

Is it free?

Yes. There is no account and no email to give. The files are made in your browser.

What should a site diary record?

Who was on site, the weather, the work done, delays and instructions, deliveries, visitors, and any accidents or near misses. Write it on the day, with times.

Daily or weekly site diary?

A daily page suits a busy site, where each day needs room for labour, deliveries and delays. A weekly diary suits a small job, with a few lines a day.

Can I change it after downloading?

Yes. The Excel and Word files open with the same title, boxes and sections, ready to edit. Each prints on A4, and a sheet with more rows runs on to a second page.

Is my logo uploaded?

No. It is read and resized on this device and goes only into the files you download, or save to your own Drive or OneDrive. The last design, logo included, is kept in this browser for next time.

Do I have to keep a site diary?

No law names a site diary. Where there is a principal contractor, CDM 2015 regulation 13 says they must plan, manage and monitor the construction phase. A dated record of each day is a plain way to show it.
