ACTCRB, activated carbon.

  • Alberta oilfield waste codes

    activated carbon

AER oilfield waste code.

Used activated carbon from oilfield filters & treating units, loaded with what it removed. An AER oilfield code.

Is Alberta ACTCRB hazardous waste?

Not from the code alone. Alberta ACTCRB is the AER oilfield-waste code for activated carbon. The waste must come from the upstream facilities, wells or pipelines on that route. Having the code doesn’t make the waste dangerous oilfield waste.

Dangerous oilfield waste stays on the AER route within Alberta. It doesn’t use an Alberta hazardous-waste manifest unless it is exported from Alberta. Record the AER code in the oilfield waste information. A regulated export also needs the federal movement assessment, and a generic industrial category doesn’t replace the AER code.

What does Alberta ACTCRB cover?

Activated carbon. The waste’s actual composition and properties still decide whether it is dangerous and how it is handled.

Is activated carbon always Alberta ACTCRB?

CodeWhen it fits
ACTCRBThe waste comes from the AER upstream oilfield route and the material matches this stream.

Oilfield origin is part of the choice. Waste from an unrelated industrial activity doesn’t become oilfield waste because its material has a similar name.
