    Inorganic pigment production waste

Alberta Uniform Waste Code category.

Inorganic waste from pigment factories, left over from making colours. Alberta inorganic waste category.

Is Alberta 141 hazardous waste?

Not from the code alone. Alberta 141 is an industrial category for inorganic pigment production waste. A waste is hazardous only when it has a Schedule 1 property or listing and no Schedule 2 exclusion applies. The code number proves neither.

For regulated hazardous waste sent for disposal, the consignor enters the waste details on the Alberta hazardous waste manifest. Alberta’s exclusions and shipment rules apply as well.

What does Alberta 141 cover?

Waste from making inorganic pigment. The category is the material or process part of the Uniform Waste Code. Transport identification, transport class and the management operation are separate parts. The industrial identification guide describes the category, and the Waste Control Regulation decides hazardous status and exclusions.

Is pigment-making waste Alberta 141 or 145?

CodeWhen it fits
141Waste from making inorganic pigment.
145Waste from using paint, pigment or coating, not from making inorganic pigment.

Hazardous recyclables follow Alberta’s separate recycle-docket rules. The industrial category doesn’t decide the document.
