GLYCOL, glycol solutions.

    glycol solutions

AER oilfield waste code.

Used glycol solutions from gas dehydrators & heat systems. Glycol is the antifreeze-type liquid that dries gas & carries heat.

Is Alberta GLYCOL hazardous waste?

Not from the code alone. Alberta GLYCOL is the AER oilfield-waste code for glycol solutions. The waste must come from the upstream facilities, wells or pipelines on that route. Having the code doesn’t make the waste dangerous oilfield waste.

Dangerous oilfield waste stays on the AER route within Alberta. It doesn’t use an Alberta hazardous-waste manifest unless it is exported from Alberta. Record the AER code in the oilfield waste information. A regulated export also needs the federal movement assessment, and a generic industrial category doesn’t replace the AER code.

What does Alberta GLYCOL cover?

Glycol liquid, with or without heavy metals. Alberta waste-manager guidance covers waste type 202. The waste’s actual composition and properties still decide whether it is dangerous and how it is handled.

Are glycol solutions always Alberta GLYCOL?

CodeWhen it fits
GLYCOLThe waste comes from the AER upstream oilfield route and the material matches this stream.

Oilfield origin is part of the choice. Waste from an unrelated industrial activity doesn’t become oilfield waste because its material has a similar name.
