    Drained end-of-life vehicles

Use B1250 for drained end-of-life vehicles as a Basel List B waste without an Annex III hazard.

Basel List B code for end-of-life motor vehicles with no liquids and no other hazardous components.

Is Basel B1250 hazardous waste?

Not from the code alone. Basel B1250 is on Basel List B, so material that matches it is normally outside the Convention's hazardous definition. That changes if Annex I constituents give it an Annex III hazardous characteristic. SOR/2021-25, including its exclusions, decides Canadian federal control.

On a federally regulated international shipment, the applicant enters the waste classification in the waste line of the federal notification in CNMTS. The movement rules and exclusions still apply.

What does Basel B1250 cover?

Covers end-of-life motor vehicles with all liquids and other hazardous components removed. List B status holds only while the waste has no Annex III hazardous characteristic.
