RAMS template questions

Is it free?

Yes. The blank, your logo and both downloads are free. There is no account and no email to give.

Word or PDF?

Word if you will type into it: table rows grow as you write and the steps can be added to. PDF if you will print it and fill it in by hand.

What is the difference between a risk assessment and a method statement?

A risk assessment says what could hurt someone on the job and how that risk is controlled. A method statement says how the work is done, step by step. A RAMS puts the two together.

Do I need a RAMS?

No law uses the word. Regulation 3 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 requires a suitable and sufficient risk assessment, and a business with five or more employees must record its significant findings. CDM 2015 regulation 13 has the principal contractor plan, manage and monitor the construction phase, and most principal contractors ask for a RAMS to do that.

Can I use it for any trade?

Yes. Pick your trade above and the blank takes its name. Hot works, excavation, asbestos, lifting, confined spaces, electrical work and work at height also add their own prompts.

Is my logo uploaded?

No. It is read and resized on this device and goes only into the files you download, or save to your own Drive or OneDrive. It is free on every design.

Where are the filled-in examples?

On the RAMS examples page. This page only makes blanks.
