When is recycled metal scrap excluded?

40 CFR 261.4(a)(13) excludes 3 recycled materials from solid-waste regulation. They are processed scrap metal, unprocessed home scrap and unprocessed prompt scrap.

Other recycled scrap may use 261.6(a)(3)(ii). Check the scrap definition and the real recycling route first.

Metal content alone doesn't exclude disposal, residues or speculative accumulation.

Which metal waste fits form 307?

Metal scale, filings and scrap fit this solid form when no exclusion applies. Qualifying plant trash can include specified scrap metals, so don't pick 307 just because a mixed waste contains metal.
