  • F-listed waste

Waste from wood preserving with arsenic or chromium

F-list process waste.

Toxic F-listed waste. Wastewater, process residues & drippage from wood preserving with arsenic or chromium.

Is F035 hazardous waste?

Yes. F035 is a nonacute F-listed hazardous waste when the named source process and waste stream match. The federal table gives it hazard code T for toxicity.

F035 is listed by source, so how and where the waste arose decides it, not a concentration test alone. A test can add a characteristic code but doesn't remove the listing once its conditions are met. On a required hazardous waste manifest, put F035 in Item 13. Look up the VSQG exemptions and empty-container rules too.

What does F035 cover?

Process-contact wastewater, process residues, preservative drippage and spent formulations from wood-preserving plants that use inorganic preservatives containing arsenic or chromium. It excludes uncontaminated wastewater and K001 bottom sediment sludge.

Is arsenic or chromium wood-preserving waste F035, F034 or F032?

CodeWhen it fits
F035Arsenic- or chromium-preservative wood treatment generates process-contact wastewater, residues, drippage or spent formulations, excluding K001 bottom sediment sludge.
F034Creosote wood preservation generates process-contact wastewater, process residues, drippage or spent formulations, excluding K001 bottom sediment sludge.
F032Wood preservation generates process-contact waste at a current or former chlorophenol plant, outside the cross-contamination and K001 exceptions.

The operation and waste form pick the listing, not the chemical content alone. The rows show nearby listed streams, not every code that could apply. Add any characteristic or other listing that also fits, since one waste can carry more than 1 federal code.
