Can industrial wood be Class 3?
The decomposable-waste rule applies to wood. Clean industrial wood is Class 2, and contamination can make it hazardous or Class 1.
Is arsenical-treated wood excluded from hazardous waste?
Discarded arsenical-treated wood has a limited hazardous-waste exclusion. It must have served its intended end use before it is discarded.
Wood treated with chromated copper arsenate (CCA) qualifies if its only hazardous basis is toxicity characteristic D004–D017.
The exclusion doesn't cover any other hazardous basis or all treated wood, and it doesn't remove the Texas industrial Class 1 and 2 checks. Don't apply it to creosote-treated wood.
