    Lime sludge without metals

Pumpable lime sludge without metals.

Pumpable inorganic lime sludge free of metals, such as lime slurry. Metal-bearing lime sludge is form 502 instead.

Where does Texas form code 501 go in the Texas waste code?

In characters 5–7. The 8-character code is a 4-character stream sequence, the 3-digit form 501 and a final class character. Form 501 puts the stream in the inorganic sludges category.

The form doesn't give a hazard status. The stream's makeup, source and properties decide the class character.

For a hazardous or Class 1 shipment that needs a Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifest, enter the full Texas code in Item 13, across 2 blocks on paper. Add any EPA waste codes alongside it. The 3 form digits alone are not enough.

The generator sets the class from exclusions, federal hazardous-waste listings and characteristics, then Texas industrial-waste criteria. H means hazardous. 1, 2 and 3 are the nonhazardous industrial classes. Testing or process knowledge supports that call, and picking a form doesn't set the class.

What does Texas form code 501 cover?

This form covers lime sludge that is mostly inorganic and pumpable, with no metals in it. The lime source and the absence of metals tell it apart from the metal-bearing form that pairs with it.

Is lime sludge without metals Texas form code 501?

CodeWhen it fits
501The waste is pumpable inorganic lime sludge with no metals.
502The lime sludge contains metals, or the waste is metal-hydroxide sludge.

A sludge made with lime doesn't qualify automatically. Keep composition evidence that shows no metals.
