Inorganics
Metal-bearing water-based liquid
A hazardous aqueous solution containing metals below restricted levels
When to use 132Inorganics
High-organic water-based liquid
A hazardous aqueous solution with 10% or more total organic residues
When to use 133Inorganics
Low-organic water-based liquid
A hazardous aqueous solution with less than 10% total organic residues
When to use 134Inorganics
Other water-based hazardous liquid
A hazardous aqueous solution not described more specifically
When to use 135
Which California code fits waste antifreeze?
| Code | When it fits |
|---|---|
| 132 | A hazardous aqueous solution containing metals below restricted levels |
| 133 | A hazardous aqueous solution with 10% or more total organic residues |
| 134 | A hazardous aqueous solution with less than 10% total organic residues |
| 135 | A hazardous aqueous solution not described more specifically |
The classification and shipping rules still apply.
Is filtered coolant discarded waste in California?
Coolant or cutting fluid that is filtered to extend its useful life isn't discarded waste when the state process-stream exclusion conditions hold. Discarded coolant, including coolant sent offsite for recycling, needs its own determination.
Can California waste antifreeze use an oil collection route?
Used-oil self-transport rules exclude antifreeze. A registered transporter can use consolidated manifesting only for qualifying antifreeze. Otherwise choose the shipment record from classification and shipping rules.
