Where does Texas form code 401 go in the Texas waste code?
In characters 5–7. The 8-character code is a 4-character stream sequence, then the 3-digit form 401, then a class character. Form 401 describes the stream in the organic solids category. It says nothing about hazard. The class character depends on what the stream is made of, where it came from and its properties.
For a hazardous or Class 1 shipment that needs a Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifest, enter the full Texas code in Item 13, across 2 blocks on paper. Add any EPA waste codes. The 3 form digits alone are not enough.
The generator sets the class. Work through the exclusions, then the federal hazardous-waste listings and characteristics, then the Texas industrial-waste criteria. H means hazardous. 1, 2 and 3 are nonhazardous industrial classes. Process knowledge or testing backs the class. Choosing a form doesn't set it.
What does Texas form code 401 cover?
Solid pesticide waste that is mainly organic and not pumpable, when the pesticide is halogenated. Chlorinated pesticides are one example, but halogenated covers more than chlorine compounds.
