Organic liquids
Halogenated solvents
Liquid halogenated solvent, such as a chlorinated solvent.
Where does Texas form code 202 go in the Texas waste code?
In characters 5–7. The 8-character code is a 4-character stream sequence, then the 3-digit form 202, then a class character. Form 202 describes a stream in the organic liquids category.
The form doesn't give a hazard status. The stream's makeup, source and properties decide the class character after it.
For a hazardous or Class 1 shipment on a Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifest, enter the full Texas code in Item 13, across 2 blocks on paper. Put any EPA waste codes beside it. The 3 form digits alone are not enough.
The generator sets the class from exclusions, federal hazardous-waste listings and characteristics, then Texas industrial-waste criteria. H means hazardous, and 1, 2 and 3 are nonhazardous industrial classes. Process knowledge or testing backs the decision. Picking a form doesn't set the class.
What does Texas form code 202 cover?
Liquid waste whose solvents are halogenated, such as chlorinated solvents. It sits in the organic-liquid category. A stream that also holds nonhalogenated solvents has its own mixed-solvent form.

Is chlorinated solvent waste Texas form code 202 or 203?
| Code | When it fits |
|---|---|
| 202 | The liquid solvent is halogenated, such as a chlorinated solvent. |
| 203 | The liquid solvent is nonhalogenated. |
| 204 | The stream mixes halogenated and nonhalogenated solvents. |
| 601 | The waste is pumpable still-bottom sludge from recovering halogenated solvents. |
Chlorinated is only one kind of halogenated solvent. Work out the solvents from the formulation or process record. The form doesn't replace any federal spent-solvent listing that applies.
Which wastes take Texas form code 202?
| Waste | When it’s 202 |
|---|---|
| Spent solvents | Halogenated liquid solvent. |
| Spent chlorinated solvent | The liquid solvent is halogenated. |
