Antimony and antimony compounds
ACT guide entry D170; it supports interstate control and does not settle local disposal approval.
Is ACT D170 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. For ACT interstate controls, the waste must match a NEPM Schedule A List 1 category and have a List 2 hazardous characteristic. The ACT list supplies the printed code, and the NEPM itself doesn't print these A100-style numbers.
For a controlled border movement, put D170 with the waste description on the waste transport certificate. The producer, transporter and receiver complete their parts. Get ACT EPA's consignment authorisation before bringing controlled waste into the ACT, and record the quantity, form, destination and any dangerous goods details. The ACT movement exclusions still apply.
What does ACT D170 cover?
Elemental antimony and antimony compounds. The entry covers the element as well as its compounds, whatever the compound or process.

Is antimony waste always ACT D170?
| Code | When it fits |
|---|---|
| D170 | The waste holds elemental antimony or an antimony compound on the ACT list. |
Use the ACT list's entry for an ACT movement record. A national reporting category with the same number serves a different purpose and doesn't create the ACT movement duty.
Which wastes take ACT D170?
| Waste | When it’s D170 |
|---|---|
| Antimony waste | Analysis or process knowledge confirms antimony in the discarded material. |
