Does PFAS soil always use a general contaminated-soil code?

Victoria’s M270 explicitly includes PFAS-contaminated soil, materials, products and containers. Its N120 soil description can also apply. Don’t drop the specific constituent just because the load is mostly soil.

What assessment does PFAS-contaminated soil need?

The disposal classification needs evidence of the contaminants present. Victoria’s disposal guidance includes PFAS limits, and NSW has a PFAS addendum to its Waste Classification Guidelines. Use the destination state’s assessment rules and don’t copy a category across the border.

Which exclusions or special routes apply to PFAS waste codes?

The shared classification and movement limits for PFAS waste codes are on the Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania, Australian Capital Territory and Northern Territory pages.

What do you do next with PFAS waste codes?

For PFAS waste, use analysis and the state’s description to settle the code, approval and receiver. Don’t infer a route from a generic soil or container label.
