Beryllium and beryllium compounds
Tasmania publishes D160 in its controlled-waste list; the characteristic test remains relevant.
Is Tasmania D160 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. For national-list categories, Tasmania also needs a listed hazardous characteristic, not just the waste description. The characteristic is presumed unless shown otherwise. Tasmania adds its own controlled wastes too, so read the category and the local rules together.
Where controlled waste needs movement documentation, enter D160 with the specific waste description in the controlled-waste consignment documentation. Record the producer, quantity, form, contaminants, registered transporter and receiver. The Tasmanian handling and transport rules apply.
A controlled load coming in from another state needs EPA Tasmania's consignment authorisation. Another state's certificate doesn't authorise the receiving facility.
What does Tasmania D160 cover?
Beryllium metal and beryllium compounds fall here. The entry takes the element as well as its compounds, not just one named compound or process.
