301, Soil contaminated with organics.
Inorganic solids
Soil contaminated with organics
Non-pumpable soil contaminated with organic substances; check soil exclusions.
Where does Texas form code 301 go in the Texas waste code?
In characters 5–7. The 8-character code is a 4-character stream sequence, then the 3-digit form 301, then a class character. Form 301 describes a stream in the inorganic solids category.
The form doesn't give a hazard status. The stream's makeup, source and properties decide the class character after it.
For a hazardous or Class 1 shipment on a Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifest, enter the full Texas code in Item 13, across 2 blocks on paper. Put any EPA waste codes beside it. The 3 form digits alone are not enough.
The generator sets the class from exclusions, federal hazardous-waste listings and characteristics, then Texas industrial-waste criteria. H means hazardous, and 1, 2 and 3 are nonhazardous industrial classes. Process knowledge or testing backs the decision. Picking a form doesn't set the class.
What does Texas form code 301 cover?
Nonpumpable soil with organic contamination. It stays in the inorganic-solids category even though the contaminants include organics. The other soil form covers inorganic contaminants only, so it doesn't fit soil with organic contamination too.

Is contaminated soil Texas form code 301 or 302?
| Code | When it fits |
|---|---|
| 301 | Nonpumpable soil is contaminated with organic substances. |
| 302 | The soil's contamination is inorganic only. |
| 398 | The nonhazardous inorganic soil holds PCBs at 50 to under 500 ppm. |
| 399 | The nonhazardous inorganic soil holds PCBs at 500 ppm or more. |
The catalog also has PCB-specific soil forms and doesn't settle every overlap with this general organic-contaminated soil form. Cleanup waste under the leaking-underground-storage-tank rules has a separate route. The soil conditions set out the detail.
Which wastes take Texas form code 301?
| Waste | When it’s 301 |
|---|---|
| Contaminated soil | Nonpumpable soil contaminated with organic substances. |
| Solvent-contaminated soil | Soil contaminated with organic solvents or VOCs. |
