J100, Waste mineral oil.
Australian Capital Territory
Waste mineral oil
ACT guide entry J100; it supports interstate control and does not settle local disposal approval.
Is ACT J100 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. ACT interstate controls apply when the waste matches a NEPM Schedule A List 1 category and has a List 2 hazardous characteristic. The ACT list supplies the printed code, because the NEPM doesn't print A100-style numbers.
For a controlled border movement, enter J100 with the waste description on the waste transport certificate. The producer, transporter and receiver each complete their part. Get ACT EPA's consignment authorisation before bringing controlled waste into the ACT, and record the quantity, form, destination and dangerous goods details. ACT movement exclusions still apply.
What does ACT J100 cover?
Waste mineral oil falls here once it can no longer be used for what it was meant for. The code covers the oil itself. Mixtures or emulsions of oil and water sit under J120.

Is waste mineral oil ACT J100 or J120?
| Code | When it fits |
|---|---|
| J100 | The mineral oil is waste and no longer fit for its intended use. |
| J120 | The oil or hydrocarbon is mixed or emulsified with water. |
Use the ACT entry for an ACT movement record. A national reporting category with the same number is a different thing and doesn't set the ACT movement duty.
