    Non-halogenated organic solvents

National reporting G110: halogenated solvents belong under G150, rather than this non-halogenated entry.

Organic solvents that contain no halogens, such as thinners & acetone. Halogenated solvents go under G150 instead.

Is National G110 hazardous waste?

Not from the code alone. G110 is a DCCEEW hazardous-waste reporting category that groups data nationally. It doesn't make every material with this description hazardous. State and territory rules decide the classification, exclusions and movement duties for a load.

Use G110 in the national waste-data category field when reporting under that standard. It isn't a national transport certificate. A movement needs the origin state or territory's accepted code and record, plus any destination consignment authorisation for an interstate controlled load. Apply separate interstate movement controls. A reporting code gives no state movement classification.

What does National G110 cover?

Organic solvents fall here when they are not halogenated, which separates G110 from halogenated solvents under G150. Process residues from making or using solvents can fit G160 instead.

Is solvent waste National G110 or G150?

CodeWhen it fits
G110The waste is an organic solvent and is not halogenated.
G150The organic solvent is halogenated.

National examples show the reporting category only. They don't set a state's code, classification threshold or whether a facility can receive the waste. Use your state's list before preparing transport paperwork.
