D210, Nickel compounds.

  • New South Wales

    Nickel compounds

NSW D210: within NSW or interstate; the listed hazardous-characteristic test still applies.

Nickel compounds, from electroplating baths, nickel-cadmium & nickel-metal hydride batteries & catalysts.

Is NSW D210 hazardous waste?

Not from the code alone. D210 describes waste that may need tracking. Part 4 tracking needs a matching Schedule 1 waste description and a Part 3 hazardous characteristic. That test is separate from the NSW disposal classification, and the code gives no disposal class. Part 4 covers local and interstate movements.

Where tracking applies, enter D210 in the waste-code field of the IWTS Movement, with the description, quantity, parties and the receiver's Movement Authorisation. The approved system issues the Movement reference. The NSW tracking exemptions still apply.

What does NSW D210 cover?

Nickel compounds. Waste is grouped by nickel compound content, whatever the named compound, process or physical form.
