Industrial waste-treatment residue
Victoria N205: the residue must come from an industrial waste treatment or disposal operation.
Is Victoria N205 priority waste?
Yes. N205 is pre-classified priority waste, so no mirror assessment decides its Schedule 5 status. Transactions and transport are both reportable.
Where the duty applies, enter N205 as the Schedule 5 waste code in the Waste Tracker record. The tracking exceptions and designation and household rules still apply.
What does Victoria N205 cover?
Residue from treating or disposing of industrial waste, including digestate, bottom ash and char. The residue must come from a treatment or disposal operation. This code doesn't take every discarded industrial material.

Is treatment residue Victoria N205 or N210?
| Code | When it fits |
|---|---|
| N205 | The residue came from an industrial waste treatment or disposal operation. |
| N210 | The residue comes from pollution-control equipment, such as baghouse dust or spent activated carbon. |
N205 is tied to waste treatment or disposal and N210 to pollution-control equipment. The regulations don't say which wins when both origins fit.
What does a Victoria N205 load need before it moves?
For a reportable transaction, the producer creates the Waste Tracker record before dispatch. A transporter or accredited consigner can do this for the producer, who stays accountable and keeps a copy. Arrange the transporter and receiving site first.
Record the code, an accurate description, form, amount, packages, treatment, industry, dispatch date and the parties involved. Add dangerous goods details where they apply. The driver records collection and delivery, and the receiver records receipt. Priority waste going to landfill, and soil that is priority waste, also needs the disposal category that applies.
