Western Australia D290: barium sulphate is outside this barium-compound entry where the catalogue says so.
Is WA D290 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. D290 is a WA controlled-waste category. Regulation 3 covers industrial, commercial, medical, laboratory and sewage-treatment waste. Domestic waste is outside it. Waste that a Class I, II or III landfill can lawfully accept is excluded, apart from specified exceptions such as asbestos, tyres and clinical waste.
For a tracked load, enter D290 in the controlled-waste category field on the DWER tracking form. DWER issues the number. The authorised carrier or driver records collection and transport, and the receiving facility closes the record. Record the holder, amount, containment and destination. The WA load thresholds and exclusions still apply.
What does WA D290 cover?
Barium metal and barium compounds fall here, including barium sulfate. The wording doesn't exclude it.
