722, Restricted cadmium liquid.
Restricted wasteCalifornia restricted wastes
Restricted cadmium liquid
Liquid cadmium is 100 mg/L or more, so this restricted entry takes priority.
Is California code 722 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. Code 722 is a restricted waste code, so it wins over any non-restricted code that also fits. Choose it after the hazardous waste determination. It doesn't prove the waste is hazardous or decide its federal RCRA status.
If a shipment needs the Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifest, enter 722 in Item 13 for its waste line. Use one California code, plus the federal RCRA codes when the waste is federally hazardous.
RCRA waste meets a federal listing or characteristic and has no federal exclusion. Non-RCRA waste is hazardous under California rules only. California presumes hazardous waste is RCRA unless the generator shows it isn't, so keep that record.
What does California code 722 cover?
This restricted entry is hazardous liquid with a representative cadmium result of 100 mg/L or more. A lower result doesn't remove any other federal or California hazard, and the waste can need a different code.

Is cadmium liquid California code 722 or 132?
| Code | When it fits |
|---|---|
| 722 | Representative cadmium is at least 100 mg/L in the liquid. |
| 132 | The aqueous liquid holds cadmium but stays below the restricted threshold. |
The current Appendix XII threshold includes exactly 100 mg/L. DTSC's 2017 guidance says greater than 100 mg/L. If more than one restricted code fits, confirm the single California code for the waste line. The rules give no general tie-breaker.
Which wastes take California code 722?
| Waste | When it’s 722 |
