Inorganic cyanides
Australian Capital Territory A130: use for inorganic cyanide itself, rather than a cyanide-bearing process waste.
Is ACT A130 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. For ACT interstate controls, the waste must match a NEPM Schedule A List 1 category and have a List 2 hazardous characteristic. The ACT list supplies the printed code, and the NEPM itself doesn't print these A100-style numbers.
For a controlled border movement, put A130 with the waste description on the waste transport certificate. The producer, transporter and receiver complete their parts. Get ACT EPA's consignment authorisation before bringing controlled waste into the ACT, and record the quantity, form, destination and any dangerous goods details. The ACT movement exclusions still apply.
What does ACT A130 cover?
Inorganic cyanides, when the waste is classed by that chemical content and not by a more specific cyanide process entry. The entry doesn't take every cyanide-bearing process waste.

Are inorganic cyanides always ACT A130?
| Code | When it fits |
|---|---|
| A130 | The waste holds an inorganic cyanide, and no listed cyanide process entry better describes where it came from. |
Use the ACT list's entry for an ACT movement record. A national reporting category with the same number serves a different purpose and doesn't create the ACT movement duty.
Which wastes take ACT A130?
| Waste | When it’s A130 |
|---|---|
| Inorganic cyanides | The material is inorganic cyanide, not residue from a named cyanide process. |
Which codes sit beside ACT A130?
| Code | What it is |
|---|---|
| A100 | Metal and plastic surface-treatment waste |
| A110 | Cyanide heat-treatment waste |
| B100 | Acidic liquids and solid acids |
| C100 | Alkaline liquids and solid alkalis |
| D100 | Metal carbonyl compounds |
| D110 | Inorganic fluorine compounds |
| D120 | Mercury and mercury compounds |
| D130 | Arsenic and arsenic compounds |
