J100, Waste mineral oil.
Tasmania
Waste mineral oil
Tasmania publishes J100 in its controlled-waste list; the characteristic test remains relevant.
Is Tasmania J100 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. For national-list categories, Tasmania also needs a listed hazardous characteristic, which is presumed unless shown otherwise. Tasmania adds its own controlled wastes too, so read the category and the local rules together.
Put J100 with the specific waste description in the controlled-waste consignment documentation. Record the producer, quantity, form, contaminants, registered transporter and receiver. An incoming interstate controlled load needs EPA Tasmania's consignment authorisation, and another state's certificate doesn't authorise the receiving facility. Follow the Tasmanian handling and transport rules.
What does Tasmania J100 cover?
Waste mineral oil goes here once it is no longer fit for its original use. It covers the oil itself. Mixtures and emulsions of oil and water are J120.

| J100 | The mineral oil is waste and no longer fit for its intended use. |

Work out what the material is and where it came from, then apply Tasmania's characteristic and approval rules. The code is not permission to transport, reuse or dispose of the load.
