Tasmania
Animal-processing effluent and residue
Tasmania publishes K100 in its controlled-waste list; the characteristic test remains relevant.
Is Tasmania K100 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. For national-list categories, Tasmania also needs a listed hazardous characteristic, which is presumed unless shown otherwise. Tasmania adds its own controlled wastes too, so read the category and the local rules together.
Put K100 with the specific waste description in the controlled-waste consignment documentation. Record the producer, quantity, form, contaminants, registered transporter and receiver. An incoming interstate controlled load needs EPA Tasmania's consignment authorisation, and another state's certificate doesn't authorise the receiving facility. Follow the Tasmanian handling and transport rules.
What does Tasmania K100 cover?
Effluent and residues from animal processing go here, including abattoir, poultry and fish-processing waste. It follows the animal-processing source, takes liquid and solid residue, and sets no concentration limit.
