Tasmania
Contaminated containers and drums
Tasmania publishes N100 in its controlled-waste list; the characteristic test remains relevant.
Is Tasmania N100 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. For national-list categories, Tasmania also needs a listed hazardous characteristic, which is presumed unless shown otherwise. Tasmania adds its own controlled wastes too, so read the category and the local rules together.
Put N100 with the specific waste description in the controlled-waste consignment documentation. Record the producer, quantity, form, contaminants, registered transporter and receiver. An incoming interstate controlled load needs EPA Tasmania's consignment authorisation, and another state's certificate doesn't authorise the receiving facility. Follow the Tasmanian handling and transport rules.
What does Tasmania N100 cover?
Containers with residue from substances on Tasmania's list go here. An uncontaminated container is outside it.
