Metal carbonyl compounds
Western Australia D100: metal carbonyls are metal compounds bonded to carbon monoxide.
Is WA D100 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. D100 is a WA controlled-waste category. Regulation 3 takes in industrial, commercial, medical, laboratory and sewage-treatment waste and leaves out domestic waste. It also excludes waste that a Class I, II or III landfill can lawfully accept, with set exceptions that include asbestos, tyres and clinical waste.
Where WA road tracking applies, enter D100 in the controlled-waste category field on the DWER tracking form. DWER issues the number. The authorised carrier or driver records collection and transport, and the receiving facility closes the record. Record the holder, amount, containment and destination. The WA load thresholds and exclusions still apply.
What does WA D100 cover?
Metal carbonyl compounds. The category groups them by structure and isn't limited to one metal, process or physical form.

Is metal carbonyl waste WA D100?
| Code | When it fits |
|---|---|
| D100 | The waste contains a metal carbonyl compound on Western Australia’s list. |
Landfill acceptance follows the acceptance criteria, not how the waste looks. A category number and a dangerous goods classification answer different questions.
