Acidic liquids and solid acids
Western Australia B100: the material may be an acidic liquid or an acid in solid form.
Is WA B100 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. B100 is a WA controlled-waste category. Regulation 3 takes in industrial, commercial, medical, laboratory and sewage-treatment waste and leaves out domestic waste. It also excludes waste that a Class I, II or III landfill can lawfully accept, with set exceptions that include asbestos, tyres and clinical waste.
Where WA road tracking applies, enter B100 in the controlled-waste category field on the DWER tracking form. DWER issues the number. The authorised carrier or driver records collection and transport, and the receiving facility closes the record. Record the holder, amount, containment and destination. The WA load thresholds and exclusions still apply.
What does WA B100 cover?
Acidic solutions and acids in solid form. The entry takes both forms and sets no universal pH limit. Victoria has a separate B100 pair that states its own pH threshold.

Is acidic waste WA B100 or C100?
| Code | When it fits |
|---|---|
| B100 | The waste is an acidic solution or an acid in solid form. |
| C100 | The waste is alkaline or a solid alkali rather than acidic. |
Landfill acceptance follows the acceptance criteria, not how the waste looks. A category number and a dangerous goods classification answer different questions.
