Inorganic cyanides
Western Australia A130: use for inorganic cyanide itself, rather than a cyanide-bearing process waste.
Is WA A130 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. A130 is a WA controlled-waste category. Regulation 3 takes in industrial, commercial, medical, laboratory and sewage-treatment waste and leaves out domestic waste. It also excludes waste that a Class I, II or III landfill can lawfully accept, with set exceptions that include asbestos, tyres and clinical waste.
Where WA road tracking applies, enter A130 in the controlled-waste category field on the DWER tracking form. DWER issues the number. The authorised carrier or driver records collection and transport, and the receiving facility closes the record. Record the holder, amount, containment and destination. The WA load thresholds and exclusions still apply.
What does WA A130 cover?
Inorganic cyanides, when the waste is classed by that chemical content and not by a more specific cyanide process entry. It doesn't take every cyanide-bearing process waste.

Is cyanide salt waste WA A130?
| Code | When it fits |
|---|---|
| A130 | The waste contains an inorganic cyanide and no listed cyanide process category better describes its origin. |
Landfill acceptance follows the acceptance criteria, not how the waste looks. A category number and a dangerous goods classification answer different questions.
Which wastes take WA A130?
| Waste | When it’s A130 |
|---|---|
| Inorganic cyanides | The material is inorganic cyanide, rather than residue from a named cyanide process. |
