Filter cake containing controlled waste
Western Australia N190: the filtered solids must contain controlled waste.
Is WA N190 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. N190 is a WA controlled-waste category. Regulation 3 covers industrial, commercial, medical, laboratory and sewage-treatment waste, but not domestic waste. Waste that a Class I, II or III landfill can lawfully accept is excluded, with exceptions such as asbestos, tyres and clinical waste.
For a tracked load, enter N190 in the controlled-waste category field on the DWER tracking form. DWER issues the number. The authorised carrier or driver records collection and transport, and the receiving facility closes the record. Record the holder, amount, containment and destination. The WA load thresholds and exclusions set which loads are tracked.
What does WA N190 cover?
Filter cake that contains controlled waste. Being filter cake is not enough. Controlled waste must stay in the solids.
