316, Other metal salts.
Inorganic solids
Other metal salts
Non-pumpable metal salts or chemicals not covered by a more specific form.
Where does Texas form code 316 go in the Texas waste code?
In characters 5–7. The 8-character code is a 4-character stream sequence, then the 3-digit form 316, then a class character. Form 316 describes the stream in the inorganic solids category. It says nothing about hazard. The class character depends on what the stream is made of, where it came from and its properties.
For a hazardous or Class 1 shipment that needs a Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifest, enter the full Texas code in Item 13, across 2 blocks on paper. Add any EPA waste codes. The 3 form digits alone are not enough.
The generator sets the class. Work through the exclusions, then the federal hazardous-waste listings and characteristics, then the Texas industrial-waste criteria. H means hazardous. 1, 2 and 3 are nonhazardous industrial classes. Process knowledge or testing backs the class. Choosing a form doesn't set it.
What does Texas form code 316 cover?
Nonpumpable inorganic metal salts or chemicals that fit neither the metal-cyanide entry nor the specific reactive salt entries. It is the leftover metal-salt form, not a catch-all for every inorganic solid.

Is a nonpumpable metal salt Texas form code 316 or 312?
| Code | When it fits |
|---|---|
| 316 | Nonpumpable metal salt or chemical that fits none of the cyanide or reactive-salt forms. |
| 312 | Nonpumpable inorganic salt or chemical that is a metal cyanide. Compare the reactive-cyanide form if it is reactive. |
| 313 | Cyanide salt or chemical that is reactive. |
| 315 | Reactive salt or chemical that is neither a cyanide nor a sulfide. |
Name the metal compound and keep the physical form and composition evidence that rules out forms 312 through 315.
Which wastes take Texas form code 316?
| Waste | When it’s 316 |
|---|---|
| Other metal salts and chemicals | Inorganic solid that is a metal salt or chemical when no more specific form fits. |
