Where does Texas form code 388 go in the Texas waste code?
In characters 5–7. The 8-character code is a 4-character stream sequence, then the 3-digit form 388, then a class character. Form 388 describes the stream in the inorganic solids category. It says nothing about hazard. The class character depends on what the stream is made of, where it came from and its properties.
For a hazardous or Class 1 shipment that needs a Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifest, enter the full Texas code in Item 13, across 2 blocks on paper. Add any EPA waste codes. The 3 form digits alone are not enough.
The generator sets the class. Work through the exclusions, then the federal hazardous-waste listings and characteristics, then the Texas industrial-waste criteria. H means hazardous. 1, 2 and 3 are nonhazardous industrial classes. Process knowledge or testing backs the class. Choosing a form doesn't set it.
What does Texas form code 388 cover?
Glass containers thrown away empty or after crushing. The glass separates it from metal, fiber and plastic containers. The former contents and any leftover residue still affect the hazardous-waste and Texas class decisions.
