    Isocyanates used in polyurethane products

New South Wales M220: these reactive chemicals are used in products such as polyurethane paints, foams and glues.

Isocyanates, reactive chemicals used in polyurethane paints, foams & glues. Leftover isocyanate is hazardous to breathe.

Is NSW M220 hazardous waste?

Not from the code alone. M220 marks a waste that may need tracking. Tracking under Part 4 needs a matching Schedule 1 waste description and a Part 3 hazardous characteristic. That test is separate from the NSW disposal classification, and the code gives no disposal class. Part 4 covers local and interstate movements.

Where tracking applies, enter M220 in the waste-code field of the IWTS Movement, with the description, quantity, parties and the receiver's Movement Authorisation. The approved system issues the Movement reference. NSW tracking exemptions still apply.

What does NSW M220 cover?

Isocyanate compounds used in polyurethane foams, paints and glues. These reactive compounds aren't limited to one product form.
