N100, Contaminated containers and drums.
New South Wales
Contaminated containers and drums
NSW N100: within NSW or interstate; also listed in interstate-only table; the listed hazardous-characteristic test still applies.
Is NSW N100 hazardous waste?
Not from the code alone. N100 marks a waste that may need tracking. Tracking under Part 4 needs a matching Schedule 1 waste description and a Part 3 hazardous characteristic. That test is separate from the NSW disposal classification, and the code gives no disposal class. Part 4 covers local and interstate movements. For containers holding Part 2 waste residues, the Part 2 interstate scope applies.
Where tracking applies, enter N100 in the waste-code field of the IWTS Movement, with the description, quantity, parties and the receiver's Movement Authorisation. The approved system issues the Movement reference. NSW tracking exemptions still apply.
What does NSW N100 cover?
Drums and other containers with residue from a substance on the NSW list. An uncontaminated container is outside the code.
